Smith Suspended, Graham Waived

by admin on September 29, 2008

The NFL has suspended NY Jets safety Eric Smith for his helmet on helmet hit on Anquan Boldin.  Smith was also received a hefty fine of $50,000.

The Jets have waived punter Ben Graham.  This is the second time this season that Graham has been waived.  Newly signed punter Reggie Hodges will be ready to go after the bye week and will take over the punting duties.

In other news:

  • Could Jay Feely’s days be numbered?  Mike Nugent could return after the bye week against the Bengals.
  • The Jets also re-signed offensive lineman Will Montgomery to the active roster and cut wide receiver Paul Raymond from the practice squad.
