New York Jets Set To Bring Back Coles

by Phil Sullivan on December 4, 2010

Several outlets are reporting that the Jets are going to resign WR Laveranues Coles on Sunday.  Lisa Zimmerman had this update on twitter:

Just learned former #Jets wide receiver Laveranues Coles will re-sign with the Jets on Sunday morning. May be a brief stay tho..

Manish Mehta from the NY Daily News posted this update on Twitter as well:

Confirmed that #Jets will sign WR Laveranues Coles on Sunday. I’m hearing he may be with #NYJ for a week or two. #nfl #patriots
The timing of this move seems a bit strange.  Patrick Turner has filled in for Jerricho Cotchery nicely and with Jim Leonhard going on the injured reserve list the thought was that they would grab another defensive back.  Coles knows this system though and should be able to step right in.

I started JetNation in 2005 and have been a New York Jets season ticket holder since graduating from high school. My dream is to see the New York Jets win the Super Bowl. Until then, I will be right here on JetNation writing, dreaming and talking NY Jets football.
