Jane McManus: Jim Leonhard’s Season is over

by Phil Sullivan on December 11, 2011

Multiple sources are reporting that the knee injury that Jim Leonhard suffered today will end his season.

Deja vu for Jets: Jim Leonard is likely out for the season with knee injury. Leonhard is an unrestricted free agent next season. #Jets

Jim Leonhard will undergo an MRI tomorrow on his right knee. It may not be his ACL,but he will miss the rest of the season, per sources #nyj

This is a big loss for the Jets since Safety is not a position of strength.  Brodney Pool will start in Leonhard’s absence and Jeremly Kerley will return as the punt returner, as he did today.  Manish Mehta also has some additional details here.

Here is a thread with additional information and commentary from our NY Jets message board.

I started JetNation in 2005 and have been a New York Jets season ticket holder since graduating from high school. My dream is to see the New York Jets win the Super Bowl. Until then, I will be right here on JetNation writing, dreaming and talking NY Jets football.
