Game Recap

Jets Win, Boost Playoff Chances

A common theme with Jets fans is that the “easy” games are never easy.  So Jets fans always fear the worst when they hear how the Jets should win a game by a wide margin.  Today though, the Jets did just that with a 37 – 10 win over the Kansas City Chiefs.  The Jets won the coin toss, took the ball and drove down the field for a touchdown.  In the first half they scored 28 points and the defense matched the intensity with 5 sacks and a safety.

Shonn Greene had an impressive day on the ground, with 24 carries for 129 yards and a TD.  What stands out more than that is his newly improved receiving skills, he had 3 receptions for 58 yards.  The screen pass that he took inside the 5 yard line had Jets fans doing a double take to see if that was L.T. running down the field.

The AFC playoff picture is a lot more positive for the Jets with early losses by the Bengals and Titans.  With the Raiders also losing, the Jets look to have more control over their postseason hopes.

The only real negative on the day is that Jim Leonhard seems to be lost for the season with a knee injury.
