Match For Michael Jets Event

Last night’s Match for Michael charity event co-hosted by Jets coach Mike Pettine, turned out to be a huge success.  I pre-registered online which let me cut a crowd of people and go into the room where you get “swabbed” to see if you are a potential match for someone who is in need of a donor.  After I was fully registered, I walked around and took in the scene.  In one room there was a silent auction with very excellent prizes.  There were cupcakes everywhere, 300 of them to be exact, donated by a local bakery.

In the main ballroom there was what I called “reporter corner.”  Rex along with Sione Pouha and Aaron Maybin were interviewed here.  I tweeted this during the event and meant it – Rex looked great.  Aaron Maybin and Mark Sanchez have been rumored to be gaining muscle mass, and they are.

Later in the evening the fans lined up for pictures and autographs with the players and coaches.  Generally the turnout of donors and possible matches was huge.  If the Jets did not help promote this, I am sure half of those people would not register, me included.  I can now say I am passionate about this important cause, and look forward becoming more involved and even more eager to see if I am a match and can save a life. I encourage everyone to do the same.  I admire the New York Jets organization for all their charity work.  Keep up the great work guys!
