Super Bowl Lottery Loser

Metlife Stadium

I joined a pretty exclusive club yesterday.  I became a member of the Super Bowl Ticket Loser Club.  That is right, I am a season ticket holder and I was officially notified that I did not win the right to buy one of the few tickets the Jets were allowed to sell to the Super Bowl.  I wasn’t surprised, the winners had already been notified.  I do miss the old days when my rejection letters came in the mail though. If I was looking to bet, I would probably use Sportsbook prop bets for NFL Superbowl because I never liked my chances in this lottery.  Walking from my mailbox to the front door always seemed to give me time to let the rejection sink in.  An email catches you when you least expect it.

Here is the email the team sent:

Jet Nation, LLC

Dear Jet Nation, LLC,

As you may know, teams hosting the Super Bowl receive a very limited number of tickets from the National Football League for distribution. An allotment of tickets was set aside to conduct a random drawing for all 2013 Jets Season Ticket Holders in good standing. Additional tickets are being distributed to players, coaches, staff, business partners, and other key stakeholders.

Unfortunately, your account was not selected in this drawing.

We wish that we had enough Super Bowl tickets to accommodate all of our loyal Season Ticket Holders. Unfortunately, the League’s allocation of tickets makes that impossible.

We look forward to seeing you back at MetLife Stadium next season, and hope to see you in the coming months at other events and exclusive Season Ticket Holder opportunities.

Sincerely,
The New York Jets

At least the Jets formally acknowledged that my account is in good standing.  Let us know if you were also a Super Bowl Lottery loser.
