Chris Johnson Visiting Jets

New York Jets

There has been much speculation around the possibility of ex-Titans running back Chris Johnson joining the Jets.  Looks like that speculation is about to get a lot more intense.  Adam Schefter is reporting that Chris Johnson is currently at Jets facility training facility.

Chris Johnson will be 29 years old this season, so the Jets would be looking at Johnson to be part of the solution at running back.  It isn’t believed that he would be the featured back, so the Jets won’t break the bank to bring him here.  Much has been made about John Idzik’s pursuit of value in regards to signing free agents.  Chris Johnson was released from the Titans earlier this month, since he is still available he could be just the value the Jets (and John Idzik) need.

Although Johnson had his lowest rushing average last year (3.9) he has rushed for over 1,000 yards every year that he has been in the NFL.  Johnson and Ivory would be an interesting one – two punch.
