McCown Named Starting QB

Josh McCown

New York Jets head coach just ended the speculation, Josh McCown will be the Jets starting when they open the season in Buffalo.

It has been a strange training camp for McCown. He saw the majority of the first team reps early in camp. Then last week he was on the sidelines as the Jets tried to get an extended look at Christian Hackenberg and Bryce Petty.

Josh McCown led the Jets to a touchdown in the only series he played this preseason. Christian Hackenberg received an extended look with the 1st team and showed that he isn’t ready yet. Bryce Petty made a big statement in the 2nd half against the Giants before spraining his MCL. No word yet if that played a role in naming McCown the starter.
