I'm getting ready for the upcoming softball season and I've had the same glove for about 10 years. I can't even take it off without the entire lining coming out with it and it takes me about a minute to put the stupid thing on so I guess it's about time for a new one. My problem is I'm left handed and I can't just walk into any local store and pick up a new glove. Does anyone know of any good online stores that you can get gloves and maybe a bat at a reasonable price?

Good luck. I had a hell of a ime finding a lefthanded glove for my brother a few years back. Got one on Ebay, eventually.

The price of bats is just plain silly.

I miss softball. I retired a while back because I just do't have the time, anymore. Keeping up with guys half my age isn't easy, either.

Bats are ridiculously priced. I don't play every day like some people do so it's hard to justify paying that kind of money. The bat I have now I think I bought for about $120 and that's cheap. It still seems to be doing alright so I'll probably just keep using it until it goes dead.

The rules for bats are hilarious too. The umps have to check both teams bats before every game.

Try Lefty's or Lefties in Burlington, Vt. Amazing supply of lefty golf and baseball equipment. They are mail order, will send you a catalogue, etc.

Edit; here you go:

The page is showing golf stuff, but I was in the store a few years ago, and they had a huge inventory of baseball gloves.

for a glove, check out www.baseballexpress.com (http://www.baseballexpress.com) they carry alot of good stuff, that's where I get all my equiptment.

let me know if you find what you're looking for there,if not i got a few other options for you.

I used to use other people's bats but I felt guilty every time I carried it to the plate. They paid alot of hard earned money for that bat and if I were to the one to take a swing and crack it I would feel terrible.

That site looks like it's geared more towards baseball. The biggest glove they have is 12 3/4".

Alk - check these guys out.

I buy all my stuff there in person, but they have a huge online sales department too. Over 200 different gloves to choose from and a lot of them are R or L handed.
Their prices are pretty good - got an Easton Synergy ll bat from them last season for $275.00 and it was over 3 bills everywhere else I checked. Make sure you check out which bats your league is sanctioning. ASA and USSSA are totally different in which bats they allow. Composite is the way to go. They have a little break in period despite what they say - but the ball really jumps off the barrel.

Got the shock of my life today in Modells when I went to purchase a bat for the tyke. Figured it wouldn't be much mroe than $25-35 range. Most baseball bats are now priced at $69-140 and up.Wood maple and ash models-which I'm not sure anyone other than a pro would use-were even higher.

I would think easybay.com

http://www.eastbay.com/catalog/modelsummary.cfm?TID=5555-06130622520106220568052-0&module=equipment&action=sportsSearch&supercat=equipment&mvp=sport&path=y&id=54646

would have some good prices on lefty gloves. And Easton has a site, but it's one that's more inlcined to send you to a retailer than sell on line-.

Might not have the cache of Rawlings or Mizuno or Wilson, but well-made stuff.
