Nobody can cept Bonds when healthy and Pujols.

You missed MATT's point which was the stat shows ARod is better in the clutch than his fanbase(not you as you have maintained support) gives him credit for.

Slow your roll GS?

Is there criteria to this underwhelming stat? Other then some Yankee ball washer spin machine to try and cover-up A-Rod's lack of clutchness.

How many of those go ahead runs were early and/or in blowouts?
How many of the RBIs came with the game tide or Skanks trailing?

http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/players/splits?statsId=5275&type=batting&year=2006

Here are some interesting stats I found.

Close and Late: 14 ABs - .143 3 RBIs
Men On, 2 out: 28 ABs - .143 7 RBIs

Again, A-Rod is talented. Sure fire HofFer. Maybe even the eventual Homerun king. Until he prooves otherwise, there are several other Yankees ahead of him on the "Oh $hit he is coming to bat with the game on the line meter.

I would still rather see A-Rod coming to bat with the bases loaded and no outs, the Sox ahead by one in the bottom of the 9th in Game 7 of the ALCS with Wakefield on the mound before Matsui and his broken wrist.

On the Yanks, Matsui is the absolute last person I would want to see up in that situation. Followed by Jeter. Those are the only two that wouldn't swing for the fences.

True but pull the same splits in the post season on #2 in pinstripes and you will see my point on how some Yanks can do no wrong..

Until A-Choke does something against Boston / In the playoffs worth while I'm still not happy / impressed with him.

He did hit the game winning homer against Schilling in the 2nd game of the series. Arod is the type of guy who unless he hits a homer every time at bat people will bash him...

More food for thought:

The Yankees were 12-0 in day games coming into today...with their, ahem, ace on the hill. They did NOT make it to 13-0, did they?

A-rod's jersey number? You got it, 13!

We rest our case!

Then the next night he struck out in the 7th in a key situation. At least put the bat on the ball.

Whoptie doo. He had one good at bat against Boston.

Another one of your brilliant looney lines. Straight from the old age home, or kindergarten. Which is it?

Listen, I know for Yankee and Jets fans it is tough to look at criticism of one of your players.

Your reply is standard reply 1 from the playbook.

Patriots' fans bash Chad for his arm strength. Yet, 10 seconds after he hits a long completion, there is a post saying we are asses and did the Patriots' fans see that long pass. It is like they have the post pre-typed.

Anyways, we are not saying Chad can't hit a long pass. He can. He just does not have the talent to do it consistently.

A-Rod is a bird of a different feather. We are not saying he can not have a clutch hit. He can. Unlike Chad though, he has talent, probably one of most talented players there are. Yet, when the game is on the line, more often then not, he comes up short.

Again, it is not that he never comes through. If you have money on the game, take him coming up short.
