View Full Version : Mike and the Mad Dog to do play by play for the Mets Sunday Matt39 05-15-2006, 05:17 PM Hmmm. Thor99 05-15-2006, 05:19 PM God, those poor Met fans. SouthernJet 05-15-2006, 05:21 PM Odd,, a San Fran assmuncher and the biggest yankee Homer on the Planet Matt39 05-15-2006, 05:22 PM I find them entertaining. Mike's not a huge homer either. SouthernJet 05-15-2006, 05:25 PM I find them entertaining. Living in North Carolina, I'm sure you know. Bugg 05-15-2006, 05:31 PM I find them entertaining. Mike's not a huge homer either. This, children, is an example of sarcasm. Alternatives for Mets fans-pushing hot bbq skewers through your eyeballs, or throwing kittens on a hot cast iron skillet. Matt39 05-15-2006, 05:33 PM This, children, is an example of sarcasm. Alternatives for Mets fans-pushing hot bbq skewers through your eyeballs, or throwing kittens on a hot cast iron skillet. Bugg, I have to ask. Is there anything you do like? SouthernJet 05-15-2006, 05:40 PM Not recently, anyway. Living in North Carolina, I'm sure you know. I get the Fan every nite driving home from work,, it comes in around 4 PM Matt39 05-15-2006, 05:44 PM I get the Fan every nite driving home from work,, it comes in around 4 PM So I assume you've heard him killing Randy Johnson? Mike and Chris are still the best option on the radio. ESPN is just awful. The ony one worth a damn on that station is Brandon Tierney, that's it. I find Stephen A. funny sometimes. Do I want to listen to Dan Patrick and Keith Olbermann exchange in verbal fellatio? No. You think Francesa's a Yankee homer, try listening to Michael Kays radio show. COlin Herd stinks. And Mike and Mike in the morning gimmick is played out. We get it ESPN, Greenie's the wimpy dork and Golics the big dumb fat guy. He's obviously a huge Yankee fan, but I don't view him as some annoying homer like Kay is. I can see how he gets Met fans ticked off, I guess. Mike and the Mad Dog is still the most entertaining radio show out there. They actually ask GOOD questions in interviews, unlike ESPN where there too busy sucking Bonds' kneecaps and asking what their favorite food is. DireJet38 05-15-2006, 08:13 PM http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=simmons/060512 simmons loves mike and dog. Matt39 05-15-2006, 08:18 PM http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=simmons/060512 simmons loves mike and dog. Ha, I read that the other day. Best Simmons article I read in a while, he summed them up perfectly. toon88 05-15-2006, 08:25 PM Kay is the BIGGEST homer on the planet no doubt. EVERYTHING is about the Yankees. The Jets could win the Super Bowl and the next day he'd start his show with how it is 10 days till pitchers & catchers in Tampa. Simmons wrote a fictional article on the 10 worst GM's of all-time meeting together, THAT was the funniest thing he has ever written, try to find that. If you liked the Mike & The Dog article, you'll love this one, hilarious!! Matt39 05-15-2006, 08:26 PM Kay is the BIGGEST homer on the planet no doubt. EVERYTHING is about the Yankees. GREENSMACKS 05-15-2006, 09:12 PM well ill had my radio off for the day. i dont wanna hear mad dogs kicked in the balls voice and tony soprano calling play by play. i bet mike eats like 23 hotdogs during the game that tank ass Matt39 05-15-2006, 09:14 PM well ill had my radio off for the day. i dont wanna hear mad dogs kicked in the balls voice and tony soprano calling play by play. i bet mike eats like 23 hotdogs during the game that tank ass With a Diet Coke, of course. Bugg 05-15-2006, 09:39 PM I think James Gandolfini and Tony Sirico calling a Mets game would be cool.If you're not gonna use a regualr play-by-play team, why not really make it fun? Mad Dog is a complete a-hole. I actually like ESPN/1050. Don Lagreca and Brandon Tierney are both really good, so much so that I can tolerate the guys they work with-Kay and Smith. Though I have a bias-Tierney's dad and my dad are to this day good friends and former colleagues on NYPD, and Tierney grew up around the corner. wildthing2022000 05-15-2006, 09:42 PM Yeah that one was classic also. Found it but it's an insider article.:lock: http://proxy.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=simmons/060224 Blackout™ 05-15-2006, 10:23 PM Ha well ok then. Kay criticizes the Yankees alot too, you can't deny that T-Mac 05-15-2006, 10:33 PM I thought that the airplay was thursday? $30,000 to go to a Queens charity. Will try and tune in. Bugg 05-15-2006, 10:43 PM Kay criticizes the Yankees alot too, you can't deny that He's knocked Torre so often that I'm not sure he's done an interview with him for some time. After 2003,2004 and 2005 he was ripping him something awful. Matt39 05-15-2006, 10:46 PM Kay criticizes the Yankees alot too, you can't deny that Yeah he does some. Him doing the games is brutal though. Bernie makes a routine catch in the OF and we have to listen to Kay desrcribe the Yankee defense as "sparkling." Matt39 05-15-2006, 10:47 PM I thought that the airplay was thursday? $30,000 to go to a Queens charity. Will try and tune in. Is it Thursday? I could be wrong. mbn007 05-16-2006, 08:28 AM Ha well ok then. I will give them the interviews. They are good at that. The Joe Torre report, and the Willie Randolph report are excellent weekly shows. But they constantly shout down and hang up on callers who dare to take an opposing view. And if you ever question Mike's knowledge on anything, he rants and rages on the air something awful. Mike and Chris know absolutely nothing about the Minor Leagues of wither NY team. They know almost nothing about Hockey. And Mike always gets on a caller who does not have every last detailed fact about the subject he's calling on. But if Mike forgets a detail, it's to be "expected". Give me ESPN anytime, even with M. Kaye. Thor99 05-16-2006, 09:34 AM The only Yankee announcer that's any good is Jim Kaat. mbn007 05-16-2006, 10:28 AM The only Yankee announcer that's any good is Jim Kaat. Kaat is good. Murcer has his times, but isn't that great overall. The rest are average, at best. Probably a bit below avg. The Mets have solid teams. Both on TV and the Radio. Matt39 05-16-2006, 11:43 AM The only Yankee announcer that's any good is Jim Kaat. I agree. DireJet38 05-16-2006, 02:51 PM Can't believe the Mets are going through with this...mike and dog treat the Mets like the red headed step child (especially francsea). Last time I heard Willie on the show it got pretty heated, strange move, if the Mets do indeed have control over the desicion it makes no sense...It will be three hours of undermining. |
