Due to the complete mismanagement by Cashman who littered this team with huge contracts in player over 30 years old. Sheff is now off the juice and has completely broke down, who knows how old Matsui really was, RJ is a shell of himself and if he did not have a huge contract would be taken out of the rotation. This sweep confirms the demise with no prospect to give away for Reggie Sanders like players

Are you kiddin me this is the 1st time we've been swept all year. Its gonna happen theres 162 games in the year. This doesnt matter because were still gonna win that division. (Edited-I won't tolerate that type of talk anymore C28C87)

Hey, there's no need for a response like that...just disagree with him. Just him bringing up Reggie Sanders in his post is all you need to know.

Easy with the attack there, CmarttoColes..trash talk is between the teams, not the fans.

I'm a Yankee fan, too. But Martz has a point. a $200 million payroll should not get swept at home.

As for Martz....I think Sheff might be 'shelved' the way Melky has been playing. I can't see him going back to the minors this year or any time in the future. When Matsui comes back next season, I see him playing right and Melky in left.

I think Jetfanfl is a excellent poster. Yanks will be ok.

Martz has his right to his opinion.

You DO know that's a great big load of crap, right? Trash talk is at least half the reason we have sports messageboards.

Well arent we touchy when u have an OF today who has barely has anyone who can hit the warning track. Please explain this great job by Cashman. The big off season move was taking a Red Sox player who is on the downside and giving him 12 million more than any other team and he is playhing like it. Cabrera is a nice 4th OF but the lack of power is noticeable when he plays everyday. When was the last great move he overpaid for:

1. Carl Pavano?
2. Jaret Wright?
3. Randy Johnson?
4. Jason Giambi?
5. Kyle Farnsworth?
6. Johnny Damon?

Dont show your intelligence by cursing and downgrading my post, please give me facts when a Gm has a payroll almost double of anyone else and still cannot win a World Series.

Have a Nice Day

The password is RANDY JOHNSON. If he was a dominant starter, even these injuries and A-rod slumping wouldn't matter.

Apparently, CMart hasn't gotten the memo about personal attacks.

I'll tell you why having a payroll as high as the Yankees doesn't mean squat. Look, money helps put a competitive team on the field...it doesn't equate to winning WS titles. Have the Yanks won any since 2000? Money alone doesn't win it all these days...chemistry amongst players has a lot to do with it. Plus, Alex Rodriguez is a prime example of the big city lights affecting this guys normal offensive output. Put him back in Texas and Seattle and watch this guy shine. He's not the first player to buckle under the scrutiny of playing in a big city...he may still turn it around...boy needs to relax.

He is the reigning AL MVP, thye should have not put all their money in the 42 year old RJ basket. ONly one pitcher has excelled at that age and he was a physical freak (Clemens)

Big deal no matter how good a team is this is gonna happen at least once in an 162 game season.

Again, it's not just about the money. There have been other pitchers...Nolan Ryan, Jamie Moyer, Greg Maddox, Tom Glavine just to name a few.

Glavine is only 40 and a soft tosser
Maddux has an ERA thast is close to 5 and is 40
Moyer was pretty good last year but also a soft tosser
U are right about Ryan

Well, we'll see how dominate Clemens is when he gets back. Hey, I could go all the way back...I was just naming a few from the era you know...want me to start with the Bob Feller's of the world?

Frank Sinatra came down and sat in this chair and I asked him: Frank, just between you and me, you good friends with Joe, how old Joe Louis is? Frank Sinatra said 'Just between you and me...Joe Louis 137 years old.'

Feller was actually 38 when he retired, there just were not that many pitchers who excelled like Clemens and Ryan at 42
