Anyone pick this game up today? I got a gift certificate from EA for my birthday so I guess I'll order it from them so it's going to be a while before I get it.

It's actually not slated for release until Thursday. I have it preordered at work so I hope it ends up being a great game. One feature I know that is available is you can transfer your roster and team from HC to Madden 07.

I also saw that you can create your own plays. That's going to kick a$$.

I seriously cannot wait to pick this game up.

I liked playing Madden in coach mode but EA may have really outdone themselves this time.

it got a 7.1 on gamespot. Apparently their first attempt has too many bugs. Not only that, but they dont even have 15 minute quaters...what kind of coaching sim is that? I'll pass.

It is not licensed by the NFL, but it is easy to change team names and logos. There is a pretty big community with files to use. The latest player file on the net is from 2004, but there are player and draft files going back to the 70s.

Yeah, I bought that one a couple times but without actually seeing the plays unfold on the field, it did nothing for me.

True. I bought it just for the management aspect. It is a very very very low tech visual game.

I doubt it would be easy to do, but right now I am playing MLB06 The Big SHow as myself in the Boston Farm System. I fast forward over everything but the ABs. It is pretty good. I went to SApring Training as a FA and was signed to Pawtuckett.

Football would not translate as well, but leaving play calling/salary negotiation upto the AI Coach and FO might be playable.

Maybe.. but still i find PARTICIPATING in training camp more fun than running it

I got NFL Head Coach the other day. I haven't had alot of time to play it but from what I've seen so far, I like it. There are some little things here and there that bother me. The lack of dialogue is hilarious at times and alot of the coach's responses don't really go with the questions being asked. I also don't like the fact that you can only do a few things to your roster every day. I can hardly imagine that it takes a coach 3 weeks to set his depth chart. I have yet to get to an actual game but this seems alot like Front Office Football with more bells and whistles.

FIFA Manager has the same coach response thing for before and after games. BY the 4th or 5th game, you used all of them. Especially, if your team sucks.

I'm not going to lie. This game go old FAST!! I didn't even make it to a preseason game before I took the game out of my PS2. I bought MLB 2K6 and haven't stopped playing it. I hate this time of year. I always talk about how I have hated the last 5 Maddens but every time the new one comes out I keep getting pulled back in. I have to stay strong and avoid buying it at least until I hear whether it sucks or not.

I'm on a four game tear now and have managed to climb to 3rd. in my division. That's funny you ask that about Grudz, he just had a HUGE homer for me tonight. :) The bombs that The Big Hurt has been hitting lately are just silly. Sounds like a damn gunshot when he hits the ball.
