My a$$ hurts every time I walk out of one of those places so I just started selling my used games on ebay. It might take a little more time but you get more money in return. The Troll 07-11-2006, 02:09 AM Wait, aren't you always talking about how much you play MLB2k6? Why the hell would you trade in to save a fraction off Madden? 124 07-11-2006, 09:17 AM Wait, aren't you always talking about how much you play MLB2k6? Why the hell would you trade in to save a fraction off Madden? I got bored with it recently. I already took every team that I like to play with to the World Series and won it....(Yankees, Cubs, Marlins & Phillies) It got me $18 off of Madden btw, Madden is $49.99 is it not? I like saving close to 40%. Alk 07-11-2006, 02:15 PM It got me $18 off of Madden btw, Madden is $49.99 is it not? I like saving close to 40%. If that's the way you want to look at it. Nevermind the fact the store is a$$ raping you for your old games. As long as it feels good I suppose... Rob D 07-11-2006, 02:41 PM Trading in games for less than their true value is better than having them sit on the shelf gathering dust and getting nothing in return. I know I could get more money if I used ebay, but it is so much easier to just hand a game over a counter than to set up an auction, package the game, post it, worry about whether or not the buyer is reliable etc. etc. Alk 07-11-2006, 03:16 PM Trading in games for less than their true value is better than having them sit on the shelf gathering dust and getting nothing in return. Either he pays you or he doesn't, you don't ship the game until you have the money in hand. I guess I value my money a little more and taking a game that cost me $50 in and having someone offer me $7 for it really chaps my a$$. I actually walked out of the store on time then sold them on ebay a week later for four times as much. 124 07-11-2006, 03:36 PM If that's the way you want to look at it. You can't tell me that somebody would buy MLK 2k6 for $39.99 or 49.99 (I forget what it was). You' probably get around 20-25 for it at most if it's pre-played. He's just saying that only getting back one-fifth of the cost is not, and that selling the games online so that you can get about half or more is much more fiscally responsible. Apparently you won't be needing math skills at West Virginia. Rob D 07-11-2006, 03:40 PM You don't have to worry about whether the buyer is reliable. I really don't mind losing out on a small amount of money if it means I save a lot of time and effort. Then again, my attitude may be influenced by the fact that trade in value seems to be much better here than it is in the US. For example, I recently traded in Ghost Recon for the Xbox 360. I paid £40 for it from an internet store and I got £25 back for it. I would have got no more than £30 from ebay, possibly less, so a maximum loss of £5 was well worth the saving in time and effort. 124 07-11-2006, 03:41 PM 124, Alk isnt saying that getting back full value is the goal. I don't know what impression he was under, but $20 total back for 2 games (Madden 06, MLB 2K6) that cost, I assume, around $50 apiece new when you bought them is one-fifth. Alk 07-11-2006, 03:46 PM $18 for a $39.99 game is 1/5th? Whose Math skills should we really be talking about?:p You had originally said that is what you got for two games combined if I'm not mistaken. True, True, probably couldn't gotten way more then $3.50 for Madden 06, but, whatever, maybe not with 07 coming out in 30 days or so. But it's $20 for $90.:p Jetsfan80 07-11-2006, 03:51 PM True, True, probably couldn't gotten way more then $3.50 for Madden 06, but, whatever, maybe not with 07 coming out in 30 days or so. But it's $20 for $90.:p thats approximately 22 % of the value. Close enough to say "one-fifth". 124 07-11-2006, 03:53 PM thats approximately 22 % of the value. Close enough to say "one-fifth".
