what more does he have to prove, other than that he's over the hill?
I mean I know that with Prior and Wood both out he's kinda forced to pitch the rest of the year, but what is the purpose of him pitching anymore?
7-10, 4.99 ERA, 130 hits and 22 walks allowed in 116.3 IP.
People take hacks at Randy Johnson and Brett Farve, so why is Maddux off the hook of criticism?
The whole Cub team has been a big disappointment Maddux included- IMO the first mistake was to assume production out of Prior and Wood-two players that can not stay on the field

From Maddux's point of view I can understand why. 9 million reasons why.

Yeah that is the difference from years ago. The money keeps them in it now.

Exactly. When you're old as **** and you know you don't have much left you stay around as long as you can to rack up the $$$.

He started out 5-0 on the year to boot.
Interesting to see if anyone tries to trade for him.

I should care a lot about this, but I don't.
This season has been a horrorshow.
Blackout's right, the Cubs really don't have much option other than to put Maddux in. He gets his 9 mil this year anyway so why not keep him in the rotation? Even if his stuff's not always there people still like watching him start just in case he pulls out a gem.
Doubt that you'll see Greg after this year. And he'll probably be a first ballot HOF

if maddux isn't a first balloter then an investigation should be done

There is a HUGE difference between Randy Johnson and Greg Maddux. Greg Maddux was not brought in to be the Cubs' ace, nor was he supposedly the final piece to the championship puzzle. He was brought in as a fourth starter behind Prior, Z, and TWV.
