Jim Molony, of MLB.com, reports the New York Yankees and Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim are believed to be the frontrunners for the services of Philadelphia Phillies OF Bobby Abreu prior to the trade deadline.
Ill take Abreu.

Just what the yanks need: another aging, worn down overpriced juicer (alledgedly).
No seriously, enjoy. Take him. It's not like your pitching staff needs more help or anything.

Angels have much more to offer. And it's not even close.

A homerun derby winner castoff. Don't want him. Yanks have proven they can win with the guys they have. I stand pat having said we'll be fine when we get healthy.

......as if you know what the Angels have to offer
Worry about your own team, and hope the Marlins give you another gift of a trade

I personally don't want him on the Tigers. He's 32 and his HR #'s have trailed off ever since that derby. Only 8 dingers this year. Plus picking up 38 million for 2 years for a 32 year old lefty is a bit much.
Matsui told Torre he will be back in August. Sheff says he will be back in Sept. They are playing awesome baseball right now. They shouldn't make any trade at all. Wait for their guys to get healthy.
No thanks. Send him to Anaheim. If we can get 26 runs off of Contreas, Buerhle & Garcia, I'll take my chances with the team / lineup we have now until September when Matsui & Sheff return.
