Just got back from Pavanos latest outing and I must say he did look sharp. He went four innings allowing two base runners on a single and a walk. He threw 56 pitches (39 for strikes) and his fastball topped out at around 93. He didn't throw much off speed stuff unitl his fourth and final inning of work but when he did throw it, it looked good. I sat three rows directly behind the plate to try and get a look at how well the ball was moving and his two seamer looked alright with a few nice cutters mixed in.

Final line

4 IP, 1 H, 1 BB, 5 Ks

When Pavano acutally throws a pitch in a Yankee uniform then I will believe it.

Until then he is still a waste of air.

F-him.

Just being honest.

Pavano has given the Yankees zilch, nada, zero since day one.

If he comes back and pitches well hey that's great.

Like I said though. I'll believe when I see it.

You know what...Pavano stands to help them much more for next season anyhow.

RJ won't have anything left, Moose will be a year older but should still be okay. If Pavano can step up next year they will have a decent top 3 regardless of what RJ does.

moose has a huge option the yankees need to pick up. there is no gaurantee that he will be in pinstripes next season.

I expect Phillip Huges to compete for a starting spot in spring training and he could end up being the #5 guy next year.

He pitched another five scoreless the other day in AA. It's amazing when the guy gives up a run down there. I have no problem treating him with kid gloves but I really think he needs to be in AAA. I can wait though:)

I doubt Hughes gets anything more then a look-see in ST next year. He starts off 2007 in AAA, along with Clippard, Karstens and White. That's a nice, talented core of pitchers. Phil is not quite ready, and I would prefer the Yankees do not rush him yet. This will be the 1st season he logs 150+ innings, so, let him start in AAA next year, and be ready if needed in a situation, like the ADh coming up this Friday.

Only not in ST.

Yankees will offer arbitration, which Moose will reject. I would rather he pitch in Philly or baltimore next season. Let them offer him a 2-3 year contract. I will take the 2 high draft picks, who will contribute to the Yankee cause for 15+ years, or well after Moose is gone from the Baseball scene.

Carl Pavano is still going to be a future starting pitcher for this franchise. Injuries happen and when he returns he will hopefully be able to give us some good #'s this year and in the future.

Pavano will never succeed in new york...he doesn't have the stones nor the mental makeup.
