talk about over-estimating the value of your own players

To think, they could have landed A. Jones for this guy and a couple of throw ins??

A few more wins this weekend and i'm thinking about throwing the 2006 version of a Sawx September swoon/Elimination party a month early!!!

We can toast Ortiz and his MVP season.....and his early October golf game

Fun, fun fun:yahoo:

Jon Lester is going to be a top of the rotation starter for years to come. He has shown periods of brilliance and periods of inexerperience. In a perfect world he would still be in AAA learning his secondary pitches, which are above average, for where he is at. That's in a perfect world though. Watch for marked improvement next season.

Maybe on the royals he'll be a top of the rotation guy.
He stinks and he has not 1 solid consistent pitch to throw for strikes.

At least with Hansen, you can catch some glimpses of greatness now and then with his stuff.

He would be the #5 starter if he was on the Pirates.

Why would I backtrack when I am correct? I think you have to give the kid more than one half a season than to judge him. And in response to Barton, not only did he have the great game against the Royals, but he's pitched well against the upper echelon too, including the White Sox etc.

Moe Lester is a #3 at best

If they had just parted with worthless Craig Hansen, Lester and Fruity Pebbles, they could've gotten andruw jones (who wouldn't have allowed Giambi*'s home run last night) OR Roy Oswalt, a true #1 ace

wow.
