as a musician it's like I have an MP3 player in my brain playing music all the time-sometimes it's on low but it always seems to be there. This mornings song du jour is Bob Dylan's.....

Girl Of The North Country

Well, if you're travelin' in the north country fair,
Where the winds hit heavy on the borderline,
Remember me to one who lives there.
She once was a true love of mine.

Well, if you go when the snowflakes storm,
When the rivers freeze and summer ends,
Please see if she's wearing a coat so warm,
To keep her from the howlin' winds.

Please see for me if her hair hangs long,
If it rolls and flows all down her breast.
Please see for me if her hair hangs long,
That's the way I remember her best.

I'm a-wonderin' if she remembers me at all.
Many times I've often prayed
In the darkness of my night,
In the brightness of my day.

So if you're travelin' in the north country fair,
Where the winds hit heavy on the borderline,
Remember me to one who lives there.
She once was a true love of mine.

I would have to say the Maxwell House Coffee jingle.

Same song that wakes me up just about every morning...it was our staple song on combat assaults back in '68. Talk about lyrics that got our adrenalin flowing. Iron Butterfly at its best!

In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida, honey,
don't you know that I love you?
In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida, baby,
don't you know that I'll always be true?

Oh, won't you come with me
and take my hand?

Oh, won't you come with me
and walk this land?

Please take my hand!

Do you play it through till the drum solo JFF? Hope so - it was ahead of it's time. And again, thanks for what you did over there.

Thanks NJ, we (my chopper unit) would pipe the music through our headsets...including the drum solo you refer to. It was unbelievable how that song reved us up.

I was just kidding about waking up to it though...but, when we get together in our reunions (as we did this past April in San Antonio)...we always play the entire song...it takes us back to a time long ago and we wouldn't have it no other way.

And now you play it whenever you're waging war on the immigrant Patriots fans on this board and any Patriot sympathizers.

Who the hell wakes up and thinks of a song? I wake up and wish I could go back to sleep unless there's something going on that day that's fun.

don't tell anybody but I was watching this Abba on tour show on PBS a few weeks back and the guy said he wrote the song while running in his neighborhood-if you listen to the song you can definitely see it-with the beat of a runner and all going with the lyrics
