Blackout™ 09-17-2006, 05:22 PM how can the Mets win the world series when they can't beat the Bucs?
Exit 117 09-17-2006, 05:34 PM how can the Mets win the world series when they can't beat the Bucs?Woodward, Chavez, Milledge, and Stinnett won't be starting WS games if we make it.
Blackout™ 09-17-2006, 05:49 PM you know im just joshin ya
but the mets still did have reyes/beltran/delgado/wright playing and didnt put up any runs ;)
Sharrow 09-17-2006, 06:22 PM Pirates have the 8th best record in the majors since the all-star break.
You yankee fans can thank them at the end of the season for that sweep. Sorry SJ

The funny thing is that Chavez and Milledge were responsible for 5 of the mets 9 hits. You had to start them to have a chance against a left handed pitcher.

sometimes he's great, sometimes he's awful

He's a lefty against the Mets. Steve Carlton can shut them down at this point.

He's only 23, most young pitchers are inconsistant.
Blackout™ 09-17-2006, 08:07 PM you mean Steve Carlton the HOFer?
granted he's like 62 or 63, I'm sure he could still strike out Pedro
Jetsfan80 09-17-2006, 08:15 PM As one ESPN analyst (I forget who) stated, this might be the best thing for the Mets. Its certainly a wake-up call. In any case, all this logistically means is that the Mets get to clinch at home!

That's who I'm referring to. He was the oldest living lefty I could think of off the top of my head.
