The Mets didn't win the division in 2000. Do not question Jetnation.
Blackout™ 09-19-2006, 01:57 PM congrats Mets fans

And they did make the WS, which is by no means a disappointment.

Who beat you that year ?

What is the relevance?

I asked you a simple question. That's all. :)
Jetcane 09-19-2006, 05:08 PM Does anyone else see the similarities between Patsy fans and Yanks fans?
Exit 117 09-19-2006, 05:31 PM Does anyone else see the similarities between Patsy fans and Yanks fans?Exactly what I was thinking.

So you can't even bring yourself to answer my question ?

It's completely irrelevant to the thread. They could have lost to the Royals for all I care; making the World Series is never a disappointment, and I wouldn't say their recent 5 years of disappointment are over until they make it again.
Gainzo 09-19-2006, 06:33 PM Quick Question.
Does anyone else think the Mets celebration last night was a little over the top?
I hope that the baseball gods don't punish them for that in the playoffs.

Then why does everybody say it's a disappointment for the Yanks?

What do you expect ? They rarely get to visit the postseason.

Hate to quote myself, but I have not read anything defending this behaviour.

Once again............
Are all you Mets fans embarrassed by this?

Are all you Mets fans embarrassed by this? No. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

A few factors to condiser when evaluating this celebration:
1) First Mets Division Title since 1988 (18 years)
2) A few vets had never been to the post season (Lo Duca, Delgado..etc)
3) They had waited a few games to celebrate (sweep in Pittsburg)
4)Lost of youngsters on team (Reyes, Wright, Millegdge)
So, it can all be explained. And no, i dont think it was over the top...
