View Full Version : Hot Rumor:Angel's owner wants to end A-Rod's NY Misery L.I.MikeBleedsGreen 09-22-2006, 08:55 AM just read on fox sports that the owner of the Angel's is trying real hard to make a trade for A-rod (Don't kill the messenger) oh yeah forgot GO METS!!!! AirForceJetFan 09-22-2006, 09:00 AM It would be great to get anything for A-Rod but it's a bit early to be worrying about that right now. The Yankees have a 27th ring to make a run at. mbn007 09-22-2006, 10:41 AM This should be revisited in November. But if the Angels put Santana, Woods, a Figgins type, and a prospect on the table, the Yankees will listen. Blackout™ 09-22-2006, 11:31 AM A-rod has the final say, no trade will ever happen AirForceJetFan 09-22-2006, 11:35 AM A-rod has the final say, no trade will ever happen So you honestly believe he wants to keep getting killed by the media, booed by the fans, and not playing his natural position? I'm not saying it's impossible, but I'd say it's far from a lock that he won't want to get the hell out of NY before he loses his mind. Blackout™ 09-22-2006, 11:35 AM the Angels are more likely to get Aramis Ramirez for a cheaper price than to trade for A-rod AirForceJetFan 09-22-2006, 11:37 AM the Angels are more likely to get Aramis Ramirez for a cheaper price than to trade for A-rod Money is not an issue IMO. If any team considers acquiring A-Rod, I would expect them to demand that the Yankees pick up a portion of his salary. If the Yanks pick up 5 mil, that leaves the Angels paying him around 12 mil, which he will generate in season ticket and merchandise sales himself. Blackout™ 09-22-2006, 11:58 AM you're forgetting that the Yankees FO aren't stupid AirForceJetFan 09-22-2006, 12:16 PM you're forgetting that the Yankees FO aren't stupid How is that an issue at this point? Stupid would be giving up A-Rod for less than what he is worth. If the Angels make what the Yankees consider to be a fair offer, then it's the job of the FO to consider it. A-Rod is a talent but lets face it, it's not like he carries this team. If the Yankees Deal A-Rod for some decent vets and dont get any blue chippers then it's a stupid deal. If they can add a guy like Lackey (for starters), some relief help, and some top prospects they'd be crazy not to do it. JMO of course. kloogy 09-22-2006, 01:58 PM This trade would be hilarious, considering how much crap the Angels fans talk about him. |
