The Mets have no chance of making it to the WS with him pitching like this.

He is practically a knuckleballer right now, seems to PUSH every breaking pitch to the plate rather than throwing it. He's messed up.

A starting rotation of Glavine, El Duque, Maine and Traschel will not win it for the Mets. That might be the worst rotation out there of all the playoff teams.

Blackout-Which gives you more pleasure:

-Any bad news involving the Mets or Red Sox?

--Or an article stroking A-Rod?

I know for vicarious fact that both of those things overide the joy of a Yankees win, for you.

Blackout....nice of you to create such a poignant article. Its obvious now who the classless Yank fans are. I just did not think you would be included. Did the Mets scare you so much that you needed to post such a stupid post?

Obviously, you have no class.

Mets fans, I know that the Mets probably aren't all that focused right now since the division was wrapped up months ago so some lapse is expected. But aren't you at least a bit concerned with the way Glavine and Pedro are pitching right now?

As a Yankee fan I'm more than willing to admit that Randy Johnson is a guy I wouldn't mind seeing on the bench when his turn in the rotation comes. As far as Ron Villone, I say give him a pass and let him pitch in rd. 1 of the playoffs. If his ERA continues to hover around 17.00 like it has in the past six weeks, he can go home after the first round and watch from home.

I heard on the radio that Pedro doesn't feel healthy and doesn't trust his pitches. It's got to be pretty tough to go out there and face playoff hitters with all that rattling around in your head.

I'm still rooting for your Mets to meet the Yanks in the series, but this will make it difficult.

This is EXACTLY why Boston wouldn't pay him. He had 2 seasons in him, tops. The Mets got last year and they got most of this.

yup,, they will have to win 10-8

None of this matters right now. With 2 scoreless innings in the 1st playoff game the Mets will get their confidence back. This is new to them and they had a big lead. So the slump now is meaningless IF they can turn it back on. Simply put though it is too early to tell.

BUT -- like I said all year long, the Mets should have made a move for another top pitcher. Screw the corner OF. Get the Ace lefty. Just my 2 cents.

Your gloating and general merry-making about other team's problems, tend to make it less "talk" and more, juvenile.

BTW-The Yankees should be prohibitive favorites to take it all. I know that makes you less happy than teh Red Sox being knocked out, and teh Mets possibly losing. But take it as a moral victory

Well you can't call it a f up yet. If he wins the WS in the next 3 years or so his way, he was definitely right. I just think the Mets should have gone for the kill. They could have breezed through the NL in the playoffs and been sitting in good shape waiting for the AL in the WS.

I wouldn't throw that towel in just yet. The difference is three games with four to play. Yeah, it's a longshot, but it's not over.

New low for Blackout among a season full of them.
Pedro is hurt and while Blackout knows this, still starts a stupid thread.

Both NY teams should have heeded that advice.
Pedro's injury is what it is.....the games go on and we have brought in Maine and Duke so that's what we go with.

If he has the knowledge to discuss and post about it , let him. Just because he is pointing out facts about your team that are true, and bother you, doesn't make it a bad thing. Enjoying the futility of the Red Sox organization, is a fundamental thing for every true Yankee fan. You don't just wipe out 86 years of laughter.

As far as I'm concerned, the regular season was basically over in July. I AM concerned that the Mets will be forced to "flip the switch" come October, since that is VERY difficult to do.

But please realize that the Mets aren't exactly sending out their best lineups at this point in the season. It's a brand new ballgame when the playoffs start.

From a business point of view, there never was any question that the Bosox made a very wise choice in the winter of 2005 by letting Pedro go. Now, it seems to be turning out that the choice was smart from a Baseball point also.

I originally thought the Mets would get 2 Cy Young type seasons from Pedro, a decline in year 3, and injuries in year 4. Instead, they got the 4th year in year 2. Not a good sign for the future.

I was probably your biggest critic about teh Tick-Tock business back in March/April.

You were close. A lot closer then I would have ever thought. I figured the Yankees would out-pace the Mets by 10 games, or more.
