I want to get one but just for music for when I go running and work out. How much can I get one for? Also, how much wattage does it put out? I just want it to sound good in my headphones.

If you are getting one that will only be used when you work out I would look into a refurbished one. Also battery life probably won't be an issue. I'm just saying. :) shutout 12-10-2006, 11:58 AM I want to get one but just for music for when I go running and work out. How much can I get one for? Also, how much wattage does it put out? You can get a 2gb nano (500 songs) for about $150 now, you can go up to a 4gb nano for $200, and can either get an 8gb nano for $250,or for that price you can get the 30gb one. faba 12-10-2006, 12:00 PM I have the same interest and if someone can help- what is a good basic model to get for listening to music while exercising- simple usage for me I do not need bells and whistles- how much and what to get? vinnys025 12-10-2006, 12:06 PM Dang, I only need 1 gig. 250 songs is enough for me, and if I get tired of the songs, I just change em out. They play mp3's I'm assuming. I dont want to pay over 100 bucks for a fancy walkman. I was looking to pay about 60-70 bucks honestly. You will save money and get the functionality that you are looking for. Panzer Division Marduk 12-10-2006, 12:23 PM Why don't you just get a MP3 player. One that isn't called IPod. I'm trying to stay away from cd's cause they skip while running. BP 12-10-2006, 12:29 PM Yeah, but doesent it need to be on a cd? Or can it be done in the same way as the ipod thingy? An mp3 player that is not called ipod is not made by apple...apple=$$$$$ shutout 12-10-2006, 12:48 PM yeah,if you're just looking for a 1gb mp3 player, don't bother with apple,as the 1gig shuffle isn't worth it when you can get one of the other brands for $60-70. Panzer Division Marduk 12-10-2006, 02:02 PM Go for a Creative mp3 player. I have a 30GB one, it's brilliant. vinnys025 12-10-2006, 02:28 PM Go for a Creative mp3 player. How much did u pay for it? dickkotite 12-10-2006, 03:58 PM i have 3 ipods. the shuffle is by far the best one. it holds plenty of music and the battery life is about 6 timeslonger than the others. its only about 65 bucks. dont buy a non apple unit, they are gay. you dont have to look further than the shuffle accoring to what u were saying Panzer Division Marduk 12-10-2006, 04:29 PM How much did u pay for it? Xmas present, I'd say round €250-300. Worth it though. I have over 5,000 songs on, and still only using 3/4 capacity. And the fact the battery is easily replaceable unlike Ipod's a bonus. I just want it to sound good in my headphones. I would go for size also. Maybe I am just lazy, but I like having variety and not having to load and reload, Plus, when you start loading your CDs and taken advantage of Limewire or something similar, 250 songs goes real quickly. Plus, if you want to utilize podcasts. In my own experience, IPOD worked great for me. The only people that had trouble with a player when I was deployed were creative owners. We are talking only 3-4 people and that was a pretty rough environment. I dropped my IPOD a few times, the normal dust, dirt and grime and heat made it loopy a couple more times, but it always came back to life. Ipods are overpriced and lock you into Apple's music format, which isn't compatible with anything else. Get a different brand. I have a Sansa (made by SanDisk) and I love it. I just bought my daughter a 5 gb RCA player for xmas. It cost me $100. Don't be sucked in by the Ipod hype. joewilly 12-11-2006, 11:42 AM This is wisdom.
