The Matsuzaka Press Conference is being shown live on the local ABC, CBS, NBC & Fox affiliates. Not to mention the cable stations NECN (New England Cable News) & NESN (The home of the Sox).

That is 6 stations. Crazy, just crazy!

This is f'n overkill. The mayor of Boston, Tom "mumbles" Menino, is now talking to NESN on the phone.

The host, Tom Caron, had the balls to say that this kind of attention would only happen in Boston. Duh. This kind of blanket coverage is caused by the Red Sox lovin' Boston media.

Where is Garb when I need her? She would back me up 100% on this.

That is why priorities in society are out of whack-when this gets all the attention instead of real news.

I think every Boston baseball beat writer and columnist should be beaten within an inch of their lives. They have made me HATE the Red Sox. No lie.

Good thing Dice-K can't speak, nor understand, English. They will crucify the kid if he does not meet the very lofty expectations....then again, The Devil himself, Larry Lucchino will give Shaughnessy another bonus to ensure that does not happen - and pad the coffers even more with every bad word written about Manny.

Thank you! I feel the same way.

Did you see Lucchino butcher the Japanese language at the end of the press conference? The guy is a tool.

Boston has a huge Irish Catholic population - the arrival of Dice-K was a bigger deal then when the pope came here some years ago. Japanese BoSox shirts hot off the presses - as live TV coverage was showing the printers hard at work last night on the 11:00 News. Dice-k attending the Bruins game last night - people in the consession area (read: stupid hockey fans) giving the new Japanese king high fives......him dropping the ceremonial puck on the ice -people kissing his arse. Lucchino acting smug. Theo acting like a hero. Werner acting like a fag. Henry throwing cathing a ball from Dice-K as he threw a pitch - Henry falling on his arse. News of a new Tourism film in the works - a Japanese comercial - "come to Boston, where a nation was born - and where the natural treasure resides."

I can't stand these people.

It seems, you just don't like other people having fun and expressing themselves as they want.

I dunno Garb....I think you're just upset this took the whole Bridget-Brady break-up off the Boston front pages. ;)

This whole circus bothers me on so many levels.....I mean, the local news decided to get fan reaction at a Boston Shushi Restaurant and Bar. Hello, CHEESY!!!!

This is what I don't get. The media here crucifies prima-donna's and the thought that the Sox treat "star" players "differently." That was a huge deal with Pedro, for example. Now look at what they are doing. I can't stand the hypocricy.

Garb, I always thought you were so much smarter.

Please, don't tell me that you are just realizing that the media has crossed agendas and will flip on a dime?

I know that you know what this is really about. I know you know.

So, what you're saying is the Bahston writers are trolls?
