The Yankees will win the AL East by 18 games this season. Here is why:
5. The Red Sox are still happy about last year.
4. AROD puts up MVP numbers and finally learns the concept of team baseball.
3. The Yankees will be more relaxes now that they are not worried about accidently stepping on one of Giambi's used needles.
2. Winning is what Derek Jeter does bet.
1. Randy Johnson.

This really could have been a top 20 list. There are so many reasons why the Yankees will win. Hard to prune them down.

6. GGG an I will be getting them DRUNK an taking advantage of Derek an Jason
TomShane 02-21-2005, 04:53 PM The Yankees will struggle to win 93 games this year. Here's why:
1) No steroids, which means that your first baseman/DH and your RF are now useless.
2) Randy Johnson will have a nervous breakdown before we get to July. Oh yeah, is his back doesn't first.
3) Derek Jeter is a great leader of a $250 million dollar, front-running team. Let's see how he does when Giambi and Shef are in detox and Carl Pavano is the ace. Lead on, DJ!
4) Joe Torre will decide by August that the rubber-chicken circuit at $50K per speech is alot better than dealing with George.
5) Bernie Williams is still in center field.

Cmon Sheff is clean and you know it. It was a cream that he applied to his body a few times.
Who amongst us hasn't done such a thing?

I don't think Sheff juiced. Although he is really strong so you can't rule it out.

TomShane 02-22-2005, 10:19 AM If Vaseline had any steroid properties in it, I'd be benching 800 pounds.

kingchad10 02-22-2005, 03:45 PM Pavano I think was the best signing we did all off season. I think he will explode and have a 21 win Season this year. Yankees will win the AL East with a 109 wins and Boston will barely miss the playoffs. Here is why , Pitching . Bostons Rotation this year is worst then last years Yankees. Other then Schilling and maybe Wakefield that have nobody who can produce. Clement , Wade Miler ,Arroyo and Wells ( Not any more ) arent capable to have a successful season.

Good point. Mussina may be the Yankees # 3, he was their # 1 last year.
Boston lost their # 2 in Pedro and Schilling isn't getting any younger.
kingchad10 02-22-2005, 04:21 PM I think with Moose moving down a slot , he will be more comfortable and produce a good season around 15 wins . Im not too high on Wright or Brown yet though. Brown will have to prove himself and lets see what Wright can do after coming off surgery. Even though he wont be ready to May , Im happy we brought back Mendoza.
haggis 02-22-2005, 08:27 PM yankees suck
haggis 02-22-2005, 08:29 PM I just had to be the first to say that on the forum.
Carry on.

In all fairness it needed to be said.
Welcome SJ!

NY Yankees, thru 75 games: 3rd place, 7 games out behind Boston.
5. Apparently the Red Sox are happy THIS year too! Not a very good argument, if you could call it that.
4. A-Rod is putting up MVP numbers, true. Unfortunately, like every season, he is not doing it against GOOD TEAMS. Coincidence? I think not. Every team that has ever had A-Rod has lost, and it's not just because of financial reasons, either. There may not be an "I" in team, but to A-Rod, you can't spell "team" without "me".
3. Meh, Giambi is having his ups and downs, but mostly downs. Bottom line: Overpaid, overrated, and a waste of space, no matter how you spin it.
2. Derek Jeter doesn't win games. Teams win games. Leaders lead. Derek Jeter clearly doesn't. Just a cog in the late Yankee dynasty (R.I.P.)
1. Shadow of his former self. Still pretty good, but inconsistent beyond belief.
Otherwise, it looks like you nailed it, Maxman! Congrats! =D>

You are one giant freaking flamer, Maxman.
Jet/BosoxFan 06-27-2005, 10:52 PM yeah, not for nothing Max, but this thread makes you sound very gay! Easpecially the #1 reason being just "Randy Johnson" as if there is nothing more to say! What has the Skullet done to warrant such ball-washing?

If you wanted to delete your insane Yankee posts, you'd have to delete the entire baseball forum.
