This was unsolicited.
Was talking to my dad about getting tickets for next year. Decided to do the math. The math was not pretty.

In a grand sense it kinda serves em right. Rich or Poor it's just not a good deal. even in NY theres no easy resale market on 140$ tickets.

Thanks.
I'm not so concerned with ticket resale, because I would go to the games, the new train system is everything they said it would be. It's $8 round trip and incredibly easy. So much so that I can pay out of pocket and go to every single game with over 35K (without interest) to do anything I want with.

I just wonder if this greed is short sighted from a financial standpoint.
As I said, if there were no PSLs, I would buy tickets tomorrow and hold them for the next 40 years. Will a corporation who can actually afford these seats do that? It's not just loyalty as a fan, it's consumer loyalty, which any smart businessman will tell you is key to long term success.

I don't believe joining a country club is pissing your cash away.. Of course, I'm biased since I'm a member of a country club (golf club actually).

It's exactly like joining a golf club if you could only play 10 times, and two of those times had to be in the rain.

yeah, but I logged 74 rounds last year... some were in the rain though.
I agree with you, joining a country club and tickets/psls are the same luxury type thing.. What I am not agreeing with is it's pissing money away. If it's something you enjoy, and you can afford it, do it.
My initiation fee was a mid level pSL, and my dues are about the cost of 4 tickets (probably a little less, maybe 3 tickets) but I get enjoyment out of it.. Of course, I played 74 times instead of 10...
