  • 1964: Matt Snell is named AFL Rookie of the Year. Snell ran for 948 yards and caught 56 passes.
  • 1966: The Jets finish the season at Shea, beating the Patriots 38-28, knocking the Patriots out of the Eastern Dvision title race.
  • 1967: Joe Namath passes for 343 yards in a 38-29 loss at the Oakland Raiders, killing off their chances for the Eastern Division title.
  • 1978: The Jets finish 8-8, the most wins in ten years, and their best record since 1974.
  • 1986: Two Jets are named to the Pro Bowl. Mickey Shuler is picked for his first Pro Bowl, along with Al Toon. Toon sets a Jets record for catches in a season with 85 (2nd overall in the AFC), and is named team MVP.
