- 1961: Sandy Stephens, a quarterback from Minnesota, is the Titans first pick in the 1962 AFL Draft, picked fifth overall.
- 1963: Matt Snell, a running back from Ohio State, is the Jets first pick in the 1964 AFL Draft. Despite also being drafted by the NFL's Giants, Snell becomes the first number one to sign with the team. Also signing were Dave Herman, Mike Taliaferro, Gerry Philbin and Ralph Baker.
- 1984: Despite Ken O'Brien throwing for 351 yards and a touchdown, the Jets lose 20-10 to the Giants. More bad news is that Freeman McNeil, the leading rusher in the AFC, plays the game with a broken rib. The injury ends his season. McNeil finishes with 1,070 yards rushing, a new Jets record.
