Background and college

Born November 24, 1976 in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, Hawkins attended Bishop McCort High School, before playing for the University of Cincinnati.

NFL Career

Before the Jets

Hawkins was drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals in the second round of the 1998 NFL Draft, where he played cornerback for six years. After one year with the Carolina Panthers, he was signed by the New England Patriots.

As a Jet

Hawkins was signed by the Jets on February 19, 2008, but retired on August 1.
