As a Jet

Moore signed with the Jets as an undrafted free agent on April 26, 2002. After spending time with the practice squad and with the Scottish Claymores, Moore first saw action in 2003, appearing in three games and starting one. Moore started 13 games in 2004, helping running back Curtis Martin lead the NFL in rushing yards. Moore had the best season of his career in 2008, helping Thomas Jones lead the AFC in rushing.

After playing in 73 consecutive games, Moore was released on February 26, 2009, in order to avoid paying a $7 million roster bonus. However, two days later, the Jets resigned him to a four year deal.
