Background and career
Born September 19, 1978, in Whittier, California, Peko attended La Serna High School. A spell at Cerritos JC followed, after which Peko attened Michigan State.
NFL Career
As a Jet
Peko was taken with the seventeenth pick of the seventh round (217th overall) of the 2001 NFL Draft. He never made it into a regular season game for the Jets, and was released.
After the Jets
After spending the summer of 2002 in NFL Europe with the Amsterdam Admirals, Peko spent the season on the Seahawks practice squad. Peko then played for couple of years at Indianapolis, making 27 appearances primarily in a reserve and special-teams role, but was released before the 2005 season. He ended up on Carolina's practice squad, before signing for the Green Bay Packers in 2006. Peko was released by the Packers in 2008.
