Background
Born in Port Lavaca, Texas on June 1 1981, Spencer attended Grapevine High School in Grapevine, Texas. As a junior, he helped lead his team to the Division I Class 4A State Championship. Spencer graduated from North Texas.
NFL Career
Before the Jets
Spencer was a sixth round pick for the Oakland Raiders in the 2004 NFL Draft, but was released and signed by the Tennessee Titans.
With the Jets
Spencer was signed as a free agent from the Titans in 2006 by the Jets. Spencer was placed on the reserve-non-football illness list October 2, 2007, ending his season, after only appearing in the season opener.
