Wallace Wright
Wallace S. Wright II is a wide receiver for the New York Jets.

Background and college

Born February 1, 1984 in Fayetteville, North Carolina, Wright attended Pine Forest High School. A former undergraduate walk-on at UNC who earned a scholarship prior to his junior season, Wright caught 23 passes for 312 yards. He made the Tar Heels as a freshman and earned the job as starting KR, bringing back 29 kicks for 624 yards (21.5 avg.).

NFL Career

As a Jet

Wright went undrafted in the 2006 NFL Draft, but was signed by the Jets as a rookie FA on 5/15/06 after attending rookie minicamp as a tryout player. He was then waived in September, but signed to the practive roster 3 days later. The Jets signed him to the active roster in December 2006 whereupon he played in five games and the AFC Wild Card Game as a wide receiver and on special teams, recording six special teams tackles in all. In the 2007 season, he has played in the first 8 games, and has made 1 reception.
