Jets Grill Hermie's Chiefs

The oddsmakers listed the Jets as 14 point favorites in this match-up.  Luckily for the Jets the league doesn’t grade on style points.  In a game marked by plays the Jets would like to have back, the Jets were able to score late in the 4th Quarter and beat the Chiefs 28 to 24.

Brett Favre threw 3 interceptions all of which came on passes that were very questionable.  He threw his first two picks on deep passes that came on 1st and 2nd down.  The third interception was a game changer.  The Jets were in the red zone and were about to make it a 2 score lead.  Favre’s pass was picked off by Brandon Flowers and returned 91 yards for a Chiefs touchdown which put them in the lead.  Brett wasn’t done for the day, after yet another impressive Leon Washington return, the Jets marched down the field.  Favre hight Laverneus Coles on a 15 yard touchdown to give the Jets the lead and the win.

The Chiefs were without RB Larry Johnson and QB Brody Croyle.  Backup QB Tyler Thigpen had an excellent game (25/36 – 280 yards, 2 TDs).  The Jets defense played well and continued their sack assault picking up another four as a team.

The 4 and 2 Jets travel to Buffalo to take on the Bills next week.  Check out photo gallery for game day pictures.  Stay tuned for the JetNation.com Report Card.
