Yesterday, the New York Jets began their OTA’s (Organized Team Activities).  TheJetsBlog.com has an excellent recap and the biggest news is that Mark Sanchez participated.  Sanchez recently began running after off-season knee surgery and expects to be 100% by the start of training camp in late July.

From TJB:

Sanchez is Throwing – While there was something of a standard “underpromise / overdeliver” on his recovery from his knee surgery, it’s good to see that Sanchez is back out with the team, throwing and participating, even if it is still in a limited 7-on-7 fashion.  Getting as much time with Holmes, Tomlinson and McKnight now will only help this offense come the early part of the season.

Also Tyson Rauch gave this update on Jason Taylor via the Examiner:

Taylor misses first day- The only player missing from Monday’s workout was defensive end Jason Taylor, who was excused as he finished hosting his charity golf tournament down in Florida.  Taylor is expected to be in attendance on Tuesday.

Here is the OTA discussion thread from the Jets Nation message board.

I started JetNation in 2005 and have been a New York Jets season ticket holder since graduating from high school. My dream is to see the New York Jets win the Super Bowl. Until then, I will be right here on JetNation writing, dreaming and talking NY Jets football.
