Week 14 NFL Picks

Last week I went 10-5, which made me feel like Tom Brady passing against the Jets secondary.  My year to date total is 110-78.

Here are my picks for week 14:

Browns over the Bills- With the Browns continued improvement could Mangini be back next year? This game could be a run-fest therefore going with Hillis and the boys.  Browns 21-13

Falcons over the Panthers- This game has trap written all over it for Atlanta, but I think in the end they find a way to pull it out.  At some point Matt Ryan has to be an MVP candidate, no? Falcons 24-14

Packers over the Lions- The Lions continue to play hard but it will not matter as Aaron Rodgers will light them up.  As much as Jets fans have “suffered” through the years, I cannot even begin to imagine being a die-hard Detroit fan.  Packers 31-17

Jaguars over the Raiders- Don’t look now but Jacksonville is making a run at the playoffs.  I want to take the Raiders and their physical running game, but on the road there is a good chance it does not show up.  Jaguars 21-17

Giants over the Vikings- If Brett Favre’s arm did not fall off last week, it surely will this week.  This is a public service message to Lord Brett: IT’S OVER.  Giants 27-10

Steelers over the Bengals- Pittsburgh enters the game a banged up unit, thankfully for them Cincinnati is focused on x-mas shopping.  Marvin Lewis would be crazy to return to Cincy next year.  Steelers 17-3

Buccaneers over the Redskins- This is a must-win for Tampa Bay if they want any chance to make the playoffs.  Lucky for the Bucs Washington is quickly becoming one of the worst teams in the NFL.  Could you imagine if Albert Haynesworth pulled this “stunt” in New York?  Buccaneers 23-13

Saints over the Rams–  New Orleans is starting to peak at the right time, which could make them a very dangerous team heading into the playoffs.  The Rams will put up a good fight but will fall short in the fourth quarter.  Saints 24-20

Seahawks over the 49ers- The fact that San Francisco is 4-8 and has a shot at the division title is just ridiculous.  It does not matter if it is Troy Smith or Alex Smith at quarterback, San Fran is just not a good team. Seahawks 21-7

Broncos over the Cardinals- Both of these teams are a mess so will go with Denver because at least they have a quarterback.  For the record I think Urban Meyer to the Broncos is a terrible idea.  Broncos 21-10

Bears over the Patriots- This could be one of the best games of the day, especially considering it is being played at Soldier Field.  Look for Chicago’s defense to get after Brady while their running attack controls the game.  Actually who am I kidding? I am still annoyed by Monday night’s loss and want nothing more than to see the Pats lose.  Bears 20-17

Chargers over the Chiefs- San Diego suffered a terrible loss to the Raiders which should signal the end for Norv Turner.  There is a good chance Chiefs QB Matt Cassel will not play, so have to take the Bolts.  Chargers 23-14

Eagles over the Cowboys- This could be a very interesting game as Dallas has come back to life on both sides of the ball.  In the end it is hard to go against Mike Vick as he is playing at an incredible level.  Now his receivers just need to hang on to the ball.  Eagles 27-20

Ravens over the Texans- Once again Houston is crawling to the finish which should spell the end for head coach Gary Kubiak.  Baltimore will put up a big time effort following their tough loss to the Steelers.  Ravens 28-13

New York Jets vs. Miami Dolphins

As bad as Monday night was against the Patriots, Gang Green must move on this week against the rival Dolphins.  This game has many storylines as Miami still has an outside shot at the playoffs.  Can Rex Ryan rally the troops after a devastating loss? Will Mark Sanchez bounce back from two poor performances? Will the defense remember how to cover receivers?  Find out these answers and more on Sunday in my game preview.
