On Monday the New York Jets announced that linebacker Bryan Thomas will be out for the year due to a torn Achilles. As of this time the Jets will use a linebacker by committee (Maybin, Westerman, Mauga etc) to replace Thomas.
This is a huge blow to the Jets defense as Thomas is a well rounded linebacker that tends to go unnoticed.
