Jim Leonhard Interview Transcript 10/3/11

On Monday New York Jets safety Jim Leonhard addressed the media.  Here is the transcript courtesy of the Jets.

On how he feels about last night’s loss…

A loss is a loss. Defensively, the film that we saw, we played pretty well. You look at some of the numbers they had. They didn’t do a whole lot offensively, but that’s the way that the NFL works. Sometimes the brunt of it’s not on your broom, and you still need to find a way to win, and we didn’t do that last night.

On the mood in the locker room…

Guys are frustrated. You never want to lose games. You never want to lose back-to-back games. We realize we have a tough one coming up. It’s not getting any easier.

On what it will take for the team to rebound…

Just get back to work. There’s no magical answer, no tricks. You just have to go out there and put in the work and go out and execute on Sundays.

On Bryan Thomas’ injury…

It’s tough when you lose a guy that is a true Jet, a guy that’s played a lot of snaps for us. I haven’t heard of what the injury is, how severe it is, but it didn’t look good. It didn’t sound good, from what you’ve heard. If we lose him, we’ve got some guys that need to step up. There’s no question about it. We feel like we have the guys in the room that can do it. They really need to step up.
