Jets Camp Report – 07/29

The Jets reached a deal with rookie cornerback Dee Milliner yesterday, who is expected to help fill the hole left by Darrelle Revis. He arrived during practice today, and did not take the field. Tomorrow is an off day. Milliner told reporters that the shoulder he had surgery on is ready to go.

+ Geno Smith was 5 for 10 with 2 sacks and 2 drops playing with the starters today. Sanchez was 3 for 6, 1 INT, and 1 drop with the second team. Rex Ryan was quoted as saying that he was impressed with Smith’s accuracy but that Smith was holding the ball too long. Smith also hit Stephen Hill for a 17 yard touchdown in the red zone in 7 on 7. He also hit Jeremy Kerley on an 11 yard pass.

+ Antonio Cromartie is impressed with Geno Smith as well. “I’m just surprised how quick he’s picking up the offense.”

+ Drops were an issue today.

+ WR Jordan White did not practice today.

+ RB Chris Ivory participated in drills.

+ Antonio Allen is currently in the lead for the second starting safety position, behind Landry.

+ Quinton Coples believes this year’s defensive line has the potential to be one of the best in the NFL.
