Pryor & McDougle Return; Training Camp Notes 08/04

It looks like the busiest group at Jets practice today was the training staff. The following players were listed as working with off to the side or with the trainers at one point or another:

S Calvin Pryor, WR Eric Decker, RB Bilal Powell, CB Dexter McDougle, CB Ellis Lankster, LB Demario Davis, WR Shaq Evans, and OT Markus Zusevics.

The big story however, was that once he got on the field, Calvin Pryor dumping the no-contact red Jersey after suffering a concussion last week.

These reps for Pryor are vital in the lead up to what should be his first NFL action on Thursday night against Indianapolis. Pryor ran with the 3’s in team drills.

Rookie CB Dexter McDougle also returned to practice. With the Jets being as thin and unproven as they are at CB, one could argue that his reps are just as important for gang green at the moment as Pryor’s are at the safety position.

According to Brian Costello, Eric Decker had several dropped passes today.

This is something the Jets have seen throughout camp from the youngsters, but a rarity for the sure-handed veteran.

Seth Walder of NY Daily News noted that the Jets used RG Willie Colon at RT with the first team, and Oday Aboushi who was drafted at a RT at the same spot with the second team.
