Rushing Defense:

With 24 yards rushing allowed on 13 carries (1.9 avg.), the Jets improved their league-leading rush defense to 78.9 yards allowed per game. Sunday’s win marks the third consecutive game and sixth contest of the season that the team has held its opponent under 75 yards rushing.

Red Zone Defense:

The Jets improved their league-leading red zone defense, holding TEN without a score on their lone trip inside the 20 yard line on their final possession of the game. This season, the Jets have allowed touchdowns on only 33.3% of opposing drives in the red zone.

Brandon Marshall and Eric Decker

WR Brandon Marshall recorded his 11th touchdown reception after he took a pass from QB Ryan Fitzpatrick and scampered 69 yards to give the Jets a 27-0. The 69-yard reception was the third longest of his career and longest since his 75-yarder with DEN at WAS (11/15/09). With his 125 receiving yards, Marshall

moved into 7th all-time in team history for receiving yards in a single season with 1,186. It’s also the third consecutive game he’s finished with at least 125 receiving yards and eighth 100-yard game of the season, a new single-season career high surpassing his previous career best of seven established in 2012 with CHI.

WR Eric Decker scored on a 16-yard pass from Fitzpatrick in the first quarter of the game, giving the Jets a 7-0 lead over TEN to culminate a 14-play, 80-yard opening drive. With his touchdown reception, he moved into a tie for third all-time in touchdown receptions over the first two seasons as a Jet (14), surpassing Keyshawn Johnson’s 13 from 1996-1997.

With their touchdowns in today’s game, Decker and Marshall become the first duo in Jets history to each amass nine touchdown receptions in a single season. Their 20 touchdowns combined ties them for first all-time amongst receiving duos with Art Powell/Don Maynard (1960) and Wesley Walker/Al Toon (1986).

After combining for 15 receptions for 199 yards receiving, Marshall and Decker moved into seventh place among Jets receiving pairs with 2,062 yards this season, while their 155 combined receptions rank fifth.
