Jets add Offensive Tackle Jeff Adams

By Glenn Naughton

Still looking to add some depth  on their offensive line, the Jets announced the signing of former Houston Texans guard/offensive tackle Jeff Adams.

Adams, a six-year veteran, is a University of Columbia product who has played in just four pro games (2 starts) for the Houston Texans. However, the 6′ 7”, 305 pounder  has battled knee injuries for much of his career, most recently forcing him to miss weeks 3-17 of the 2015 season before spending 2016 on the Texans practice squad.

Having bounced around on several different practice squads, the Jets official site says his stop with Gang Green will make the Jets Adams’ sixth team in as many pro seasons as he also spent time with Dallas, Cincinnati, Miami and Tennessee before going to Houston.

Adams intrigued the Jets as far back as 2012 when they had him in for a pre-draft workout, but the big man went unpicked before signing with the Cowboys as an undrafted free agent.
