The New York Jets have announced that they have waived 5 players.

The Jets have waived RB Brandon Burks, WR Darius Jennings, LS Josh Latham, LB Jeff Luc and DL Julien Obioha.

Jennings signed to the Jets’ practice squad in December and later inked a reserve/future deal with the club in January. A 5’10”, 169-pound Virginia product, Jennings signed with Cleveland after the 2015 draft and spent some time on the Chicago practice squad in 2016.

After joining the Jets’ practice squad in December, the 5’9”, 208-pound Burks was active for the team’s season finale against the Bills and carried twice. Luc spent time with New Orleans and Cincinnati the past two years before agreeing to a reserve/future contract in January.

The 6’4”, 280-pound Obioha, a Texas A&M product who originally signed with the Jets as an undrafted free agent on May 6, 2016, spent last season on injured reserve. Latham, who long-snapped at Sacramento State for three seasons, signed with Green & White on Feb. 7.

I started JetNation in 2005 and have been a New York Jets season ticket holder since graduating from high school. My dream is to see the New York Jets win the Super Bowl. Until then, I will be right here on JetNation writing, dreaming and talking NY Jets football.
