Report: McGuire Inured, not Thought to be Season Ending

During their second day of training camp at Florham Park this afternoon, it was learned that second-year running back Elijah McGuire, who left yesterday’s session with a foot injury, did in fact have surgery.

Per NFL insider Adam Schefter, the injury is not believed to be season-ending which is good news for McGuire who had earned high praise from running backs coach Stump Mitchell earlier this off-season.

With McGuire on the shelf, the Jets hosted free agent running backs Alfred Morris and Orleans Darkwa.  The Jets were rumored to have interest in Darkwa as a free agent earlier this off-season.
