Le’Veon Bell Frustrated With Offense, but Understands it’s a Process

Playing the role of diplomat, Jets running back Le’Veon Bell acknowledged the fact that the Jets offense hasn’t been the best experience in 2019, but also said he understands it’s all a process.

Bell came to the Jets as a dual threat running back/wide receiver, but Adam Gase has had little use for Bell doing anything other than working out of the backfield.

In his last season with the Steelers, Bell was lined up as a slot receiver 77 times for Mike Tomlin with another 55 snaps on the boundary.  That’s a total of 132 snaps at wide receiver that contributed to Bell finishing the season with over 600 yards through the air.  Under Gase, Bell has lined up in the slot just 26 times with 36 reps on the outside.

Asked if he would like to remain a Jet beyond this season, Bell said he “obviously would”, but added “we’ll see what happens”.
