Jets Release Darryl Roberts

In a move that has been expected the NY Jets announced that they have waived cornerback

Daryl Roberts.

Roberts started in 10 of the 13 games he appeared in this past season and registered 62 tackles, 6 pass defenses and 1 interception. This past season, Roberts was one of eight different players who started at cornerback and he also played some safety when Jamal Adams missed action in Weeks 14-15. In addition to logging 713 defensive snaps, Roberts also participated in 143 plays on special teams and finished with 3 stops.

A seventh-round pick of the Patriots in the 2015 NFL Draft, Roberts was waived and the 6’0″, 182-pounder was claimed by New York’s AFC representative on September 4, 2016. The sixth-year veteran has totaled 172 tackles, 27 PD and 3 INT in 56 games (26 starts).
