Jets Sign Duane Brown

After the recent injury news with Mekhi Becton, all eyes were on Duane Brown. The pro-bowl offensive tackle was with the team recently while he was evaluating his options. Word came down today that he is going to sign with the Jets.

He may have had options as Connor Hughes suggests, but he definitely used his leverage to get a nice pay day.  Per Adam Schefter this is a two-year, 22 million dollar deal. It will be interesting to see how much of that is in year one because at his age (37) this could very well be a one year deal.

The other thing to be worked out is where does he play? He has been a left tackle his entire career.  The 6’4″ 315lb veteran is a great scheme fit and the Jets had to bring in a veteran. Brown spent 10 years with the Houston Texans and 4 with the Seattle Seahawks.

I started JetNation in 2005 and have been a New York Jets season ticket holder since graduating from high school. My dream is to see the New York Jets win the Super Bowl. Until then, I will be right here on JetNation writing, dreaming and talking NY Jets football.
