Jets put Mann on Notice, add Punter Ty Long to Practice Squad

Since drafting punter Braden Mann out of Texas A&M just a few seasons ago, the Jets may have had enough.  The former Texas A&M Aggie shanked a 20 yard punt on Sunday that set up a Baltimore Ravens TD following two underwhelming seasons with Gang Green.

The poor punt may be the straw that broke the camel’s back as the Jets yesterday added former Chargers punter Ty Long, who also handled kickoffs for San Diego in 2019 and 2020, to their practice squad.

His 46.5 yards per punt average is just over 2 yards better than Mann.  In 2019, Long finished with his best average for a season at 47 yards per punt.
