New York Jets Inactive List @ Giants; 4th O-Line Combination for Gang Green

After facing a substantial amount of injuries up front on the offensive line in 2022, the New York Jets’ bad luck has spilled over into this season.

Three starters have already been removed from the lineup; Duane Brown after 2 games with a hip injury (as well as poor performance if we are being honest) that led him to the Short Term Injured Reserve list. It still remains to be seen what the plan is for him upon return. Then, Alijah Vera-Tucker suffered a second consecutive season-ending surgery in Denver, this time a torn Achilles. He is currently rehabbing with QB Aaron Rodgers and other NFL players such as J.K. Dobbins.

Lastly, rookie right guard Joe Tippmann suffer a significant thigh injury that head coach Robert Saleh later classified as a quad. Despite Saleh calling Tippmann a “quick healer”, he will not be suited up for today’s game, and it is unknown if it will longer into his availability for the Monday night matchup against the Chargers in Week 9.

That leaves New York’s AFC representative starting their fourth offensive line combination in 7 games. The unit as a whole has improved week over week, and have come a long way from getting that bad taste out of their mouth from the Dallas game just over a month ago. Can this group continue their ascension and slow down Wink Martindale’s pressure-heavy schemes to allow Zach Wilson the time to find his playmakers?

Here is the full list of the New York Jets inactives for this afternoon’s tilt with the crosstown Giants:

  • WR Irv Charles (shoulder)
  • WR Randall Cobb
  • DE Carl Lawson
  • RG Joe Tippmann (quad)
  • RB Izzy Abanikanda (healthy)
  • LB Zaire Barnes (healthy)
  • DB Jarrick Bernard-Converse (healthy)
